Men require 64 ounces per day while women and children need 52 ounces.
Drinking the right amount of water every day is essential to give your body what it needs to carry out basic functions and prevent you from getting sick.

Men and women need to drink more water when exercising, participating in sports, during hot weather, in higher elevations, when experiencing fever, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and when taking medications.
For women, more water is necessary during menstruation, pregnancy and breastfeeding.
